JDS Architects has created an extraordinary plan for a zoo located in South Korea Dochodo island. The island is in accordance with the architectural firm, to be “based on case studies of sustainable development is only to determine the tourist areas, where the nature and structure functions in the balance, symbiotically feed one another.”

According to JDS, zoo landscapes peaks and valleys are ideal for the construction of the zoo. Valleys, flat house suitable for the animals, while the more mountainous areas can be protected and made a nature reserve. All transportation, energy sources and building systems will be placed in the so-called “infrastructure, green belt” which is located at an altitude of 20 meters. All of the above and below will remain untouched.
The proposed zoo will impact as low as possible, zero-carbon transport system, energy recycling, rain water collection points, and all waste will be reused as either compost or biofuel. Dochodo sounds like an ideal location for the zoo, but we need to know about the potential impact of tourists continued to commute from other cities to the island. For the architects, they do not tell us that this island will be accessible by a bridge, which is much better than having a location that can only be reached by plane.
