G. * Lab by architect and partner Gansam send us a proposal to the National Museum of Contemporary History of Korea in Seoul, using a mixture of concrete and structural steel to build the two volumes that draw at home 5000 years of history.
Despite its location on the route through the heart of Seoul, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and strengthening tourism still not disclosed to the general public behind the facade. The axis linking Gwanghwamun historic Town Hall, Sungnyemun, and Seoul Station recently received considerable attention with Gwanghwamun the Plaza as a place of communication and interaction between Korean citizens. This gives a symbolic meaning to the Minister of Culture, Sports, and strengthening of tourism, as the building violates exclusive prints. The story of five thousand years the emergence of Korea and Korea as a leader in the global culture are summarized by the phrase “Dynamic Korea.”
Dynamic Korean culture, history, and citizens become the driving force behind the design. National Museum of Modern Korean History is a collection of various historical events and experiences of Korean modern history, the movement of people in responding to the dynamic experience of the museum space to tell the birth of a new symbol of national and cultural values.

First Floor
The first floor presents the landscape of the site with the geometry model is expected to create various paths and landscape features such as shallow ponds, benches, patio and garden. Our plan is to create diversified into the building was likely to draw visitors with interesting things, and gradually increase their curiosity about what this place. The first phase focused on providing a public place of relaxation and rest, approval Sejongno missing in this region. the park will offer visitors the experience itself, without having to visit the museum.
The two separate core for practical reasons: the basis for visitors is located on the right side of the floor plan, they would enter a room with double height space, and there are elevators and stairs Relief is provided for visitors. They can also directly reach the bridge by the stairs. The core of the administration of much larger, containing space for art storage, maintenance, and other facilities used for administrative purposes. Parking is planned for a dozen vehicles, and obviously hidden in the mass of the mechanical room, and the core of the administration.
We propose to landscape the public park that is currently less exploited and neglected. In designing a bridge that extends into a public park, to reach all the way to the Embassy of the United States, we hope to increase the number of visitors from all directions.
Second Floor
The bridge extends horizontally, are connected to the outdoor theater space carved into the mass of the engine room. On the bridge, visitors can see the Plaza Gwanghwamun to the west, and the study of Gyeongbokgung. Visitors can then roofed by the elevator.

Visitors can ride the elevator to the level of the roof, admiring the view of Gyeongbokgung, Namsan near Gyeongju, and Sejongno. This garden gives people a well deserved rest from the hustle and bustle of the town before they went down into the building to see the exhibition.
Entering the building, visitors will find a variety of space experiments. When they went down the street and see the exhibition, they will be guided by the movement of road running through the existing facade. the road is covered with the outer skin of glass frit. When they entered the building, they will face a space ship, which is the symbolic center of the building where a special exhibition to be held at The visitors are not always required to enter the ship, or required to go through all the exhibits.
