“Galije” is the name of this place, located on a parcel of land whose location has not been touched. This resort is an exclusive blend of the building and blend with the environment without destroying it.
Quoted from MVRDV site “The split / limbo we find ourselves in is to design an exclusive luxury resort icon in projecting the total 100 000 library programs that must be seen. An exclusive place to stay under cover. As a result we designed the entire project as a deduction for this area and covered with a blanket from the original landscape. Where a higher density is required we picked up the blanket to make a hill. Hotel iconic formed by pulling a blanket in front of the cliff to create the overhang is even more dramatic. The landscape is more flat and hold the villa they are organized around a private terrace overlooking the sea ”
contains 115 apartments, 87 hotel rooms, restaurant, swimming pool, parking and retail space available at this resort. MVRDV managed to make a new breakthrough by combining the hotel building with the surrounding environment into one that is difficult to distinguish except in sections round windows that appear around the grass.
